The recipe for advieh, the intriguing spice blend in the Persian-Style Carrots and Black-Eyed Peas, calls for rose petals-not the easiest ingredient to find. You can look in Middle Eastern markets, but recently we discovered another great source: a tea shop. We happen to be just a short ride away from Simpson & Vail in Brookfield, Connecticut, but tea shops are becoming more popular all around the country. They often sell rose petals as a stand-alone tea or keep some on hand if they blend their own teas.
