Cinnamon Mashed Sweet Potatoes

These sweet, rich potatoes go well with the Honey-Chipotle Glazed Flank Steak.


  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
  • Kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 Tbs. unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • Cover the sweet potatoes with 1 inch of cold water in a 4-quart saucepan. Add 1 Tbs. salt, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to a simmer.
  • Partially cover the pot, and cook until very tender, about 15 minutes. Drain, return to the pan, and mash with the milk and butter, then stir in the cinnamon. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

    Great way to use sweet potatoes! I was surprised how quickly the sweet potatoes cooked. I usually bake sweet potatoes in the oven and well now I have quicker way to get these delicious potatoes on the table. Great recipe!
