With Halloween just a few weeks away, I am reminded of my childhood trick-or-treating excursions. Every year when we got home, my sister and I would sit in the family room with our pillow cases full of candy and spend hours trading back and forth. Both of our most prized possessions? Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Twix, among others.
Not Without Salt author Ashley’s recipe for homemade twix bars brings me back to the days where I was sitting with my sister, dressed as a witch (pretty much every year until 6th grade), absolutely NOT trading my Twix for anything…except maybe a Reese’s.
Halloween as an undergrad is, shall we say, not about candy anymore. But with this recipe I may be inspired to make a few batches this year as a throwback to one of my favorite holidays growing up.
