Why I Want to Go to The Farmers’ Market with Blogger Louise Mellor

I found a new-ish blog recently that delivers on its name. Satisfied, by chef Louise Mellor, is a blog that leaves you, well, satisfied. Except for the times her photos and sense-driven descriptions of food and recipes leave you completely ravenous, that is. I’ve been grilling a lot of corn lately, so her post on Sweet Summer Corn and Grilled Chicken with Lime Adobo hit the spot for me. And, it made me want to follow her around the farmers’ market. Any farmers’ market. With a notebook.

In her sweet summer corn post, she admits to smelling food as she shops. “If it doesn’t smell like the earth,” she says of a tomato, “I won’t buy it.” Words to live by. And it’s not just the corn and the tomatoes. Click around. Louise’s nose is the start of a great many inspired dishes—that no doubt—satisfy.

Satisfied is another blog recommendation that landed in our inbox. Keep em’ coming, foodies! Send us worthy reads at fcblogs@taunton.com.

Looks like I stumbled onto Satisfied the same time that you did. It quickly moved up to my #1 spot. And I have the same yin-yang reaction: both satisfied and sometimes furiously angry at my computer for being two-dimensional, not capable of providing me with a complete sensory experience of her amazing photography and prose. Good pick!
