Lemon Basil Ice Cream

We infused the cream with basil and lemon zest as directed in the Lebovitz recipe, and added lemon juice in the second step. The ice cream was delicious - just enough herbal interest with a strong lemon flavor. We served it on Chocolate Rum Cake for our son's birthday. We used to love Blue Bell Lemon ice cream, but now it tastes bland in comparison!
