This is a very simple traditional Filipino dish that's best eaten with hot Jasmine rice.  The beef is sliced thinly and browned on its own.  The onions rings are also sauteed separately and cooked until translucent.  The sauce is made of soy sauce, and fresh calamansi juice, if available.   If calamansi (philippine lime) is not available, fresh lemon juice will suffice.  The sauce is added at the end to the pan with both the beef and onions.
