Cook the Issue 2010: Chicken Soup with lime and hominy

This is a very tasty soup, but we were split on the hominy.  My husband liked it, saying it reminded him of grits, but I did not like it.  I don’t like grits either, so this is no fault of the recipe.  The broth is very good—garlicy but with a refreshing squeeze of lime.  I think I am going to strain out the hominy and use the rest of the broth to make Ellie Kreiger’s Autumn Vegetable Soup.

LisaWaddle writes: This has become one of my favorite weeknight dishes; it's so quick and yet out of the ordinary. I love the hominy, it adds such body (but I did live in Nashville for 13 years, so maybe that's the Southerner in me talking!) Posted: 1:55 pm on April 15th
