Cook the Issue 2010: Limoncello-gin cocktail with grilled thyme

I love gin, so I was happy to see a gin cocktail in this issue (finally!).  This was very tasty, although the thyme seemed to get a little lost in the strong alcohol flavors.  I made my own limoncello (in the mason jar in the photo) and because it is less sweet than commercial limoncello, I had to add a bit more.  Also, I like my gin drinks cold and icy, so I shook this instead of stirring-- that was a mistake because there were little flecks of grilled thyme in my drink.  Also, I took the photos of the drink neat, but added ice for drinking-- this is definitely an on-the-rocks drink.  A great drink-- I think I need another!  (Thank you for not calling it a something-tini!)
