Let me offer a dissenting opinion to the generally poor reviews this drink has received: YUM! Let me also offer a suggestion: there is no good substitute for the Maraschino Liqueur-- if you cannot find it, just omit it, do not use another liqueur and definitely do not use anything that has come near maraschino cherries! Luckily, we had some Luxardo Maraschino on hand-- partly a relic of Cook the Issue 97, partly from our Aviation kick of last year. This is a complex and well-balanced drink. The tart lime provides spark and the maraschino, tequila, and agave give a funky complexity to the sweet and fruity cherries. Great stuff. My only change would be to cut back the agave syrup a little-- it was just a tiny bit too sweet.
