A Blog Worth the Bookmark: Pinch My Salt

By Robyn Doyon-Aitken, Web producer

June 28th, 2010

It was Pinch My Salt’s name that initially got me, but it’s recipes like today’s Fresh Fig and Banana Milkshake that’ll keep me coming back. Sure, it’s a simple 4-ingredient shake, but it’s a good example of what blogger Nicole Hamaker does really, really well: She experiments. Lucky for us.

Good blogs make you ask questions or want to do something. Pinch My Salt will have you doing both. Last week’s recipe for Nectarine Muffins had me asking myself why I haven’t been baking nectarine muffins my whole life and wishing I could fast forward to August when nectarines are abundant in the Northeast.

Fresh in California means I’ll have to wait a little while here, but I don’t care. Judging from Nicole’s gorgeous photos (she's as good with the camera as she is with the blender), the shake and the muffins will be worth it, and this is a blog worth bookmarking.

My thanks go out to David, a reader who recommended Pinch My Salt via email. I’m only sorry I hadn’t discovered it sooner! If you know about a blog we should be reading daily, please share it with us at fcblogs@taunton.com.
