Cook the Issue 2010: Classic Bananas Foster
comments (2) July 13th, 2010 in GalleryFIRE!! Not only was this delicious and simple, but it was a lot of fun to make. I scaled down the recipe to a single serving (one banana, 1/4c sugar, 1Tbsp each butter, liqueur and rum). I also didn't have banana liqueur, so I used Cointreau-- that was delicious. One of the great things about this recipe is that it has no esoteric ingredients and can be made with things you probably just have around-- butter, sugar, a banana, and some booze. It also comes together very fast-- you could have a craving, then have this on the table 10 minutes later. That could be dangerous, because the combination of smooth bananas with warm, rich, and boozy caramel sauce over cool ice cream is very craving-inducing. Then, best of all, you get to light it on fire!
