I don't know why I didn't see the chicken gravy beyond the fried chicken in issue 106 so I made it for dinner last night with my homemade chicken stock.  I was very pleased and my husband was thrilled! 

I don't care to cover my chicken serving with gravy and I should have taken a picture of his plate, but I was really happy with the gravy, the thyme and the touch of lemon was nice and I went a step further and grated a little zest into the gravy.  I know that everyone has their secrets for fantastic gravy, especially in the south. 

I'll be making this gravy again.

ICDOCEAN1 writes: I was in a bit of a hurry so I brought up the recipe on my laptop in the kitchen rather than looking for the magazine and I was surprised to see that gravy recipe and wondered why it wasn't in the magazine. liamsaunt writes: I had to go back and look closely at the recipe to find the gravy recipe...it's an "online extra" according to the issue I have. I wish I had found the online extras a while ago! In addition to this yummy looking gravy, I found an "online extra" posted recipe for linguini with squash blossoms and lemon cream sauce that sounds amazing.
