I never have enough morels around to dry, so when I saw the article in Issue 104 on dried morels, I sighed and moved on to other recipes. Now, inundated with lots of really tasty but also super-hot peppers (Hot Paper Lantern, from Johnny's Select Seeds), I remembered the drying method (after all, the peppers kind of look like morels, despite being from a different kingdom!) and decided to give it a try. Instead of piercing the stem, I just tied the dental floss around the peppers and hung them from the light switch in the porch, where they sort of look like pepper lights-- but the real thing!
