I confess that I have made almost all the recipes in the "Pumpkin" article without actually using a pumpkin-- blame my CSA, which should be re-named October is Squash Month Farms. So, I had a Sweet Dumpling squash that desperately needed baking and a few sweet potatoes around. This puree was really tasty-- the perfect accent to the duck in the next post. I tried for a cutie presentation in the squash half, but I scooped too close to the edge and the squash skin didn't have enough structural integrity to stand up to the weight of the puree-- back to the drawing board! Anyway, this was really tasty-- a great change of pace from the usual warm spices with squash. It would be perfect with the Christmas goose, if one made a goose.
