A Sweet Alternative to a Classic Thanksgiving Side

By Nicole Celli, Editorial Intern

November 11th, 2010

Sweet potatoes are one of my favorite side dishes at Thanksgiving. I make a mean sweet potato pecan casserole, if I do say so myself.

Sweet potatoes are so versatile and have an abundance of health benefits. They're loaded with vitamins and minerals, and are even low-calorie. You'll see them on Thanksgiving dinner tables often disguised as a savory side dish, or showing their sweet side in a delicious pie.

Heather from Sprinkle Bakes gives the sweet potato a new way to stand out. Check out her recipe for Sweet Potato Whoopie Pies with Maple Marshmellow Creme. This Thanksgiving, ditch the pie and try these adorable cakes that even kids will love.

ALEXIS24 writes: I have try to copy the "rhum fruitcake", but somehow, it only copy the end of the recipe??? I have tried 4 times, and the same thing happened. I give up... That's why i stay away from your e-mails, because i cannot download the recipes that i want to make! Is this particular recipe in one of "fine cooking" magazine? And which one is it? it will be faster. Thank you. Please advise. Posted: 6:48 pm on December 26th
