Cook the Issue 2010: Crunchy Sugar Cookies

Happy New Year!  We tried both sugar cookies in parallel to see which one we liked better.  Here is the crunchy sugar cookie, which is indeed crunchy, with great crisp taste and a bit of caramelization.  Another great thing about these cookies is that, since they are squashed out before you bake them, they look like a lot more cookie.  The bad news is that only one of four of us really preferred these-- everyone went for the chewy.  Still, these are yummy cookies-- buttery, not-too-sweet, and a great aroma of vanilla.
