First, a huge thank you to everyone who entered a cookie in our Dessert in a Cookie Contest. Based on previous cookie contests, we knew you would take Abby Johnson Dodge's concept and run with it. You elevated the humble cookie into glamorous and inspiring desserts we wished we could take a bite of.
There were three standout recipes, about which our water cooler comments ranged from “I’m so intrigued by these,” to “I’m definitely making these!”
kwilky described her Affogato Meringues as “appealing little cookies” that were irresistible. We couldn’t agree more. For her cookies, she wins a $200 gift certificate for www.KingArthurFlour.com, Fine Cooking 2010 Archive DVD, Desserts 4 Today by Abigail Johnson Dodge, and Fine Cooking's Special Issue: Cookies, Brownies, Bars & More.

RC13’s entry combined two things we were crazy about this fall: fruit crisps and cookie cups. Her creation is the perfect way to share a bite-sized fruit crisp. And Camillacooks’s Gajar Halva Whoopies intrigued us. Carrots, raisins, coconut, orange zest, pistachios and cardamom in a sandwich cookie? Yes, please!
