Cook the Issue 2010: Classic Creamed Spinach--250th recipe!

By liamsaunt, member

January 9th, 2011

EDIT: this is my 250th recipe posted to this challenge.  I would have picked something more exciting if I had realized in advance!

This recipe got decidedly mixed reviews at the linner table today.  Some of us (OK, the ladies) thought it was way too rich and overwhelming.   The guys really loved it.  My husband told me it was better than the creamed spinach at Mortons, where he has to go often for business dinners.  I personally prefer my spinach simply steamed and then tossed with a little knob of butter.

I did copy paste etc, but I just didn't get around to counting the recipes.

ICD, you are closer than you think. I went to your page, selected all your posts (not including the comments), then pasted the text into Word. When you use the "Replace all" feature, Word tells you how many times the word(s) were found-- when I replaces all the "Cook the Issue" occurrences, it said 245. Unless you said Cook the Issue a lot in your posts, you are very close-- you have certainly been cooking up a storm. Posted: 6:20 pm on January 9th

ICDOCEAN1 writes: I forgot to mention that Robyn needs to know that you crossed the finish line...I think that I am about 16 or so more recipes short at this time, but I get tired of or interrupted when I start counting. In the end a great disciplined time for me and I think that I can sit with my books and issues of FC and create a menu weekly and pretty much stick to it. Posted: 5:10 pm on January 9th

A little note on the creamed spinach, I like mine a little drier rather than swimming in sauce. We love spinach! Posted: 5:01 pm on January 9th
