I'm not a big baker, but I was immediately intrigued when I stumbled upon the Cake Duchess's recipe for Sake Strawberry-Apple Bars. Sake in a bar cookie?  So cool!  She uses the sake to make a cornstarch slurry to thicken the sweet-tart strawberry and apple filling for the bars.  There's also a sugar cookie crust and a crushed pretzel crumb topping, but who cares? It's the sake that spoke to me!
