In my family, holiday celebrations continue well into the New Year. I think we've even hosted a "Christmas" get together with our family friends in May or June before. This definitely isn't something we do on purpose, but because we spend the holidays with our immediate family, we have to find time afterwards to visit with our extended family and close friends.
So what does this have to do with tapas? I thought you'd never ask!
I came across this incredibly-photographed post on an Australian-based blog called What Katie Ate. While Katie wrote this post back in November, I can’t think of a more perfect time than now to share this with you, because if you're anything like my family, you're still going to be having belated holiday get-togethers well into February.
Katie's array of tapas-style dishes are vibrant and full of bold flavors. And the photos are stunning. Lamb with beer and roasted garlic; sizzling prawns with garlic, chili and lime; paprika potatoes with ham and eggs; olive oil roasted tomatoes with Manchego and basil; Italian sausage with red grape and parmesan pangratto; salt and pepper quail with sage, Parma ham and a plum and red wine dipping sauce; cherry amaretto clafoutis. Need I say more?
All of these dishes are served in small, bite-sized portions, making it easy to munch and mingle all at once. Your guests will be able to graze happily, and the party can continue through the night without ever having to transition to dinner or dessert.
