I'm obsessed with this blog. I don't know how I didn't find it sooner. I have literally been telling everyone how much I love this site since coming across it last week. And I know what you're thinking...that I just like it because she and I share the same name. But this is not the case. I'm really, truly am simply in love.
Alexandra's Kitchen is one of those blogs that will quickly become your go-to online reference if you need a recipe and need it now. Alexandra Stafford is a long-time food lover, designer and a force to be reckoned with behind the camera lens. Her photos are breathtaking, vibrant, detailed; each recipe photographed comes to life on the screen and makes you hungry. Really hungry.
She is all about local food and preparing what's in season. She makes practically everything from scratch, and compiles her most important recipes onto what just might be my single most favorite blog page on the web right now. She calls it, "The Essentials."
On The Essentials page, you can find a compilation of her recipes for kitchen staples like homemade ricotta, homemade tomato sauce and chicken stock from scratch. She shows you simple techniques for making fish en papillote, vinaigrettes and artisan bread. She also has a variety of her favorite recipes there, categorized by type of dish, making them easy to find and whip up. Looking for a great pizza recipe? Try her Butternut Squash Pizza with Crispy Sage.
The point of “The Essentials” page is that so many of her other recipes use the basics that are featured there. That pizza uses a smear of her homemade ricotta, as do many others. That chicken stock she showed you how to make will come in handy in several noodle bowl and soup recipes. She’s not just giving you all this information for nothing.
Please visit this blog today. And by today I mean right now. I guarantee you'll make at least one of her recipes for dinner tonight.
