French Butter Cookies, or Sablés, are classic French cookies originating in Normandy France. The name 'Sables' is French for "sand", which refers to the sandy texture of these delicate and crumbly shortbread-like cookies. The flavor of these Sablés is enhanced by the use of quality ingredients, such as European-style butter, pure vanilla extract, and high quality cocoa powder and chocolate. These were inspired by Mexican Hot Chocolate, and have espresso powder, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, cinnamon and chili powder. Recipe at There's a Newf in My Soup!
