Sunflower oil is valued for its light taste, health benefits and frying performance. There are three types of sunflower oil: NuSun, linoleic and high oleic. NuSun has a lower level of saturated fat (less than 10%), linoleic is mainly polyunsaturated (65%) and monosaturated (21%), and oleic has a minimum of 80% oleic acid and is used in many bakery applications, such as crackers and spray coating for cereal and dried fruit.
Vegetable oil can be used in the place of sunflower oil.
Store sunflower oil in a cool, dry place. It should keep, opened, up to a year.
