Taste Seeds and Nuts Before Using

Seeds and nuts have a high oil content and can turn rancid over time, so be sure to smell and taste them before using. They should smell pleasantly fragrant, not like used cooking oil, and taste sweet and nutty.

To keep seeds and nuts at their best, store them in airtight containers away from light and heat. They'll keep at room temperature for up to 1 month, in the fridge for up to 3 months, and in the freezer for up to 1 year.
