Okay, banana muffins are hardly a flight of creative genius. That said, they are really tasty, very cute, and (alas) all too easy to eat in massive quantities. My daughter and her friends love munching on these, but they will not touch a full-sized muffin. Moreover, one advantage of making things mini, in addition to the portion control aspect, is that mini baked goods have a higher ratio of crust to crumb. That is, geometrically speaking, a smaller piece will have a higher surface to volume ratio. So, consider a spherical muffin. Oops, you can't consider it, I ate it already, because I really love crust!
