Re:Beef Stew with Root Vegetables and Horseradish

I have been making stew for many years and I very rarely brown my meat on 4 sides. So this time I decided to follow the recipe as they explained it and brown on all for sides. Very time consuming and honestly no difference in taste. The stew was good but bland.I am going to have to pass on this recipe as mine is tastier.I am giving it a 4 because it was very good as all stews are but lacking taste.

Re:Spaghetti with Garlic & Spinach

When I first read the recipe, I thought how boring. Thank goodness I read the reviews. I made this for dinner tonight exactly as written with the exception of the addition of red peppers flakes as suggested by readers. It was amazing! I doubled the recipe and added about 8 cloves of garlic more(we love garlic) This is definitely a keeper.

Re:Shrimp Stew with Coconut Milk, Tomatoes & Cilantro

The First time I made this recipe I was awestruck at the simplicity of the recipe and the awesome taste of the outcome. Since then I have made this recipe on numerous occasions and always double the recipe. My daughter is allergic to shrimp so I have replaced the shrimp with scallops and Pollock and still the taste is amazing. I would not change anything about this recipe, it's awesome.

Re:Vanilla-Bean Sablé Cookies

Well this was a pleasant change to all those boring shortbread recipes.Easy and no frills recipe that produced a delicious tasting and wonderful looking cookie. I used what we call vanilla caviar (fresh vanilla paste)which is the inside of the vanilla bean and the cookies tasted amazing. I also used Raw sugar to coat which gave a beautiful crunch to the cookie. My new favorite cookie!

Re:Slow-Roasted Beef Standing Rib Roast with Brown Ale Butter Sauce

I was a bit skeptical when I read this recipe as I was a bit worried about roasting in a 200 degree oven. However I took the chance and put my 10 pound roast in the oven and followed the instructions exactly as written. WOW!!! Absolutely the most tender roast I have ever eaten and perfectly and evenly cooked throughout. This is definitely my new way of cooking roast beef.

Re:Lemon Shortbread Bars

Absolutely Amazing! Perfect for Lemon Lovers like myself. Did all the prepping of lemon rind and lemon juice and it took no time to whip these little beauties up.The longest part was watching them cool. Thank-you so much these are definitely a keeper.

Re:New York Strip Steaks with Blue Cheese Butter

The first time I ever had Blue cheese on a steak was in a steak house in Massena,N.Y. Since then I have added it on occasion to my steaks. However in a butter is a brilliant idea as it becomes a little less strong depending on one's taste for blue cheese. I used a Gorgonzola as we love the pungent taste of Blue cheese and it is a bit stronger then most other Blue cheese's. Excellent recipe, simple and adds another level to steak. I use it even on my London broils, any steak will do!
