Re:Grilled Herb-Crusted Leg of Lamb with Fresh Mint Sauce

Great recipe! The mint sauce surprised me, seemed so simple but was a fantastic complement to the char on the lamb.

Re:Cinnamon-Swirl Raisin Bread

I made this with the ingredients as listed and had no problem with the amount of cinnamon, however I think you could reduce it and still have a great tasting bread. The family loved it, the hardest part was waiting for it to cool enough to eat!

Re:Chocolate Chip-Banana Bread

I am not a fan of banana bread but really liked this recipe. I made mini loafs and they looked great and tasted even better. My family, which loves banana bread, gobbled it up and gave a big thumbs up.

Re:Bourbon & Brown Sugar Marinated Steak

This worked well as both the marinade for the steak and a nice sauce on the steak and mashed potatoes. Just the right amount of flavour stayed with the steak and the high sugar content gives a nice caramelization on the grill.Someone has mentioned this was too salty, I happened to be a couple Tbsp short on the soy sauce and found this did not detract from the flavour and may have saved a tad on the salt.

Re:Chicken Tikka Masala

The 5 stars is well earned for this recipe. It tastes incredible and is a lot of fun to make as you get to use so many spices, the kitchen smells wonderful. Very good for company as the cooking techniques required aren't too difficult so it's difficult to get it wrong. Try it and give it the time it deserves for the flavours to blend.

Re:Peach and Blueberry Galette

Top marks for this, we made it to take to a friends house and they loved it. the pastry turned out perfect in the mixer. The filling was the right amount of sweetness to let the fruit flavours show through. I was impressed with how well the look turned out too, very rustic looking.

Re:Pancake Soufflé Muffins with Strawberry-Maple Syrup

This sounds like a repeat of one of the other comments, but I too found this recipe a little dry and not up to the usual Fine Cooking standards. The name is good though, it did taste like pancakes but in the shape of a muffin. It's worth trying out, but you should expect a corn-meal muffin texture rather than a soft fluffy pancake. Extra butter and syrup will help if it's too dry for anyone.

Re:Quinoa Salad with Apples, Walnuts, Dried Cranberries, and Gouda

This recipe tastes great. I made it for friends who were familiar with quinoa but had not had anything like this, they left as big fans. A similar reaction from my wife who is so-so on ancient grains but says I can make this recipe anytime. As is, the recipe makes a lot but I found this was a great snack or even a light lunch so I won't reduce even when making for a small group. It also keeps very well, I was worried about the apples going brown or arugula going limp but there is enough acid in the dressing that they stayed fresh all week. I was able to get red quinoa which made for a great looking dish but regular would do just fine.

Re:Crispy Smashed Roasted Potato Recipe

These are a hit with the whole family! I've made them a dozen times by now and keep this as a recipe as a nice side with many dishes where I want something different than roasted but keep the flavour rather neutral. I don't follow the recipe exactly for the smashing as I just parboil, flatten with a fork, then prepare. Like lava cake, it's not that hard to prepare, but it's something people remember.

Re:Indian Lamb Curry with Green Beans and Cashews

This turned out to taste more like a bland stew than a curry, I'm not even sure what could be added to fix is. I will not be making this again.
