Although Chinese and grew up in Asia, my parents never allowed me in the kitchen because we had a cook to cook our meals. Needless to say I never learned to cook our family's Chinese (Cantonese) dishes and soups. I've managed to muddle along, but my cooking these days are western cooking. Yes I have a flat bottom carbon steel wok and a round bottom one that I used in college (because we had a gas stove then), but they are under used. I "need" a teacher and short of having Grace in my kitchen Grace's book would be great to get me started again with Chinese cooking.
