Luckily, I read the previous review and reduced the water to 1 cup for the salsa verde. Turned out just right.I thought the meat was bland, but the other flavors filled in. That said, this is a pretty good recipe. My wife and I enjoyed it. The pickled onion, salsa verde, and cheese were very tasty and would work well in other dishes.

Honestly, I thought this lacked flavor. The meat cooked perfectly though. Pulling the pork was very easy and I used the left overs for tacos.

Very tasty. I didn't have the darned lime marmalade, so I used lime zest, juice, and sugar. Not sure it worked as well as it should have. I'll try it again once I've received the lime marmalade.That said, this is a good recipe. It really does need mashed potatoes to soak up all the juice. Now, if you will excuse me, I need to go back and see if I can get one more rib down my gullet.

Re:Japanese Chicken Kebabs (Yakitori)

The mushrooms and scallions cooked much faster than the chicken, even though I cut the chicken into small bite sized chunks. So, I did it again, this time using ONLY chicken. Excellent. The kebabs can be done ahead of time and travel well. They are just as tasty cold as hot. Skip the veggies unless you are trying to show off colors and just make this meat on a stick!

Easy, quick, and delicious. Loved the grilled red onions. I did double the dressing though ... I like my salad a little on the wet side. The combinations of flavors were well thought out. I'll be making this again!

Beans never got soft. Six plus hours later, I finally just pulled the beans out of the oven. It's possible that it was the brand of salt pork I purchased, but there was a lot of fat on top once it cooled down. Disappointing considering all the time it took to cook.
