Re:Spicy Slow-Cooked Short Ribs with Lime & Basil

One word - Wow!!!If you don't have a slow cooker - buy one just to make this dish.As with other reviews, I could not locate lime marmalade - but substituted regular orange marmalade and the zest from one large lime with the juice. Absolutely the tastiest short rib recipe I have ever made.

Re:Pork Fajitas with Pan-Roasted Corn and Pineapple Salsa

Everyone really enjoyed this dish. I think the pineapple and pork work well together. I agree with another reviewer - the salsa could have used a bit of a kick with some jalapeo, just a bit, not too much. Thought the pork was just right - good flavour and easy to prepare. Gave the dish four stars because I think the fajitas need some sort of sauce to counter the dryness of the lean pork. Maybe a little garlic lime mayo or something similar.

Re:Slow-Cooker Five-Spice Pork with Snap Peas

I loved this dish. Very flavorful. The kids actually ate it up! I thought the snap peas added a nice textural contrast. We actually forgot to add them until the last minute and they worked out really well. I prefer them tender crisp with a little snap to them, and that is how they turned out. The only change I had to make was to thicken the sauce with 2 tbsp of corn starch, whisked into 1 cup of sauce from the slow cooker and heated to boiling in the microwave, then added back into the dish.

Re:Salt-and-Pepper Roast Beef with Béarnaise Sauce

Loved the simple treatment of the beef - really let its flavor shine. But the Bearnaise didn't work out for me at all. It never emulsified and no attempt at repairing it worked. Perhaps my blender could not run fast enough - although it did seem to be powerful enough to spit butter all over the kitchen. Next time I will reach for my pan and whisk and prepare my go-to Bearnaise on the stove.

Re:Penne with Asparagus, Shiitake, and Pancetta

A little involved, since all of the parts have to be assembled separately. But the pasta was nice and warm with the addition of the asparagus in the cooking water at the end. Cooking the asparagus separately keeps it from overcooking. The lemon oil adds a nice bright flavor that goes so well with asparagus.

Re:Hoisin Pork with Napa Cabbage

I think the flavors are well balanced. Overcooked the Napa the first time. Was better prepared the second time and it was nice and crunchy in the dish. I agree with other reviewers that you could add a pinch of red pepper flakes to give it some more zip, but I loved it just like it was.

Re:Vietnamese Tilapia with Turmeric & Dill

I think this is really good, my wife picked at the leftovers and she is not a tilapia fan. We made double the sauce for the next day. The kids ate it. The dill-green onion topping goes really well, but the recipe doesn't make enough! I would make four times as much as suggested and pile it on!!!

Re:Hanger Steak with Spicy Miso Glaze

Wow - first time trying Hanger Steak - it is fabulous! Absolutely great beef taste, tender yet very lean. Find yourself a butcher who can source this cut of beef and follow this recipe for a fantastic meal. Everyone cleaned their plates, even the non-meat lovers at the table.

Re:Sweet Potato Oven Fries with Fry Sauce
