Re:Poached Shrimp with Spicy Mayo and Garlic Breadcrumbs

I expected to love this recipe, but the only thing I liked were the garlic breadcrumbs. They were truly excellent, and I'll be making them again. Unfortunately, the mayo/aioli just did not turn my crank at all. We usually use any leftover aioli on sandwiches, but since we didn't like the herb combo or the texture, I finally scooped into the food waste recycling bin. It's a great idea...but that particular mayo didn't work for us.

Re:Stove-Top Jambalaya

This was REALLY good, and super simple. The flavors were great, and the colors stayed bright. I used a very spicy sausage (andouille with cheese and jalapeno) that added just the right amount of heat. I didn't realize there was cheese in the sausage until I got it home, but it still worked well. Definitely will make again.

I made a test batch using walnuts, and loved that I really didn't even need a recipe once I had these instructions. They are very, very good, and I'll probably make them for New Year. And definitely during the football playoffs - GO 'HAWKS!

Re:Turkey Tortilla Soup

I altered this recipe slightly, because I wanted to use what I had on-hand. I used chicken (although this will be my go-to way to utilize excess turkey next TG), and sliced, oiled, and oven-baked fresh tortilla strips instead of frying them. But I basically followed the rest of the recommendations, even using feta, which I don't like. But this recipe was excellent! I'd intended to eat the last little bit for lunch the next day, but it was so good, I ate it for breakfast.
