Re:Fresh Tortellini with Asparagus, Peas, and Mint

Positively delicious. A lovely spring pasta. I made with penne and added some crisped prosciutto on top, as other reviewers suggested. I thought the mint added an important dimension. Will definitely make again (is tomorrow too soon?!!)

Re:Grilled Caesar Salad

Simply fantastic. Even my husband, who is an unwavering fan of classic caesar (i.e. ungrilled), loved this and had a second helping. Easy enough to pull together at the last minute, while the grilled entree/meat is resting. Impressive presentation for a summer dinner party. Will be making this again.

Re:Fusilli with Peas and Feta

Lovely spring pasta dish with a great balance of flavors. Extremely easy to make. I am tempted to add some lemon zest into the sauce before our pure'ing.

Re:Three-Cheese Macaroni with Brussels Sprouts and Pancetta

This was disappointing. I love the concept of this combination but the recipe didn't deliver. The cheese sauce was rather gloppy, obscuring the pancetta flavor. Surprisingly, the brussels sprouts were lackluster as well, even with roasting them, which I expected would offer a brighter flavor. In the end, the underwhelming sauce overwhelmed everything else.

Re:Crispy Orange-Sesame Chicken Breasts

I made the recipe as recommended by "Dashx" and would highly recommend it. Two observations: my daugher craved the gooey sauce typically served with this dish in restaurants. Next time, I might make more of the marinade, reserve a portion (before dipping the chicken), and heat it up to use as a finishing sauce. The homemade toasted breadcrumbs were labor and time intensive for a weekday family meal. I will try using store-bought panko next time. Happy eating!

Re:Tilapia with Scallions and Black Bean Sauce

A lovely and easy fish recipe, which I made as instructed with one small exception. For the hot chili paste condiment, which I felt would be far too spicy for my family's palate, I used a only teaspoon or two and mixed it with a couple of tablespoons of sweet chili sause (like you would use for spring rolls). I topped the finished dish with this, which provided a nice contrast to the salty marinade. BTW, I did not find the dish too salty but did take note not to salt the rice. The jasmine variety of rice is an important detail. Served this with a side of maple glazed baby carrots. Happy meals!

Re:Penne with Crisp Prosciutto, Zucchini and Corn

A nice change from sauced pasta dishes and a fresh summer pasta combination. I second the recommendation to increase prosciutto to 6 ozs. and would further recommend cutting the zucchini pieces slightly smaller (3/4"). Even with the larger pieces, my family, who generally does not like zucchini (nor mint), devoured this dish -- even going so far as to ask where I got the recipe. Score!

Re:Asparagus and Fried Eggs on Garlic Toast

Easy and delicious. Make sure you use good quality sour dough bread. We substituted parmesan reggiano and think pecorino is the better cheese choice if you have it.

Re:Lemon-Ginger Poached Halibut with Leeks & Spinach

I wouldn't normally put "fish" and "comfort food" in the same sentence, but would for this dish! Not only was it scrumptious, but it was easy to make and the flavors elegant enough that I would not hesitate to make this for company. I typically find mint a distracting flavor but, as an earlier reviewer said, don't overlook it in this recipe. I made this exactly as written, including the soba noodles. Wouldn't change a thing.

Re:Soy and Ginger Shrimp en Papillotes

A hit with the whole family, especially my shrimp-adverse teens. (Remember when we were growing up, shrimp was an extravagance? You would think I was trying to feed them liver!) It was a very satisfying meal served with brown rice. A little labor intensive for a busy weekday but scrumptious nonetheless.
