Spelt Salad with Cherry Tomatoes and Zucchini
A hearty grain salad with your choice of add-ins and a zesty vinaigrette just the way you like it.
Sear-Roasted Sea Bass with Blood Orange Salsa
I went with sea bass for this excellent fish recipe. Loved the salsa, and excellent addition to any mild white fish.
Pulled-Pork Sandwiches with Cabbage, Caper & Herb Slaw
These sandwiches are a great way to use up all that fabulous slow-roasted pork shoulder. Loved the addition of the slaw.
I didn't think I would like these, despite my obsession with Everything Panini. I was wrong, I loved them. Really fabulous, and different.
Fresh Pasta with Sausage & Mushrooms
Excellent dish. The sausage is prominent in this recipe so it's important to buy something that tastes great. I used Whole Foods spicy chicken Italian sausage, which we loved.
Served with fried plantains and a black bean-corn salsa. My husband loves pork chops and loves jerk. These are the best of both and I'm looking forward to making them again.
Salt & Pepper Shrimp with Garlic & Chile
Spicy! Very spicy. But good. I made these for myself to snack on around dinnertime while I was home alone one night. A great finger food.
This was a very labor-intensive endeavor, due to the work involved with peeling and cutting the rind, but so worth it. I made a bunch of small jars and gave them out to friends, neighbors and...
I loved this mousse and wanted to eat the whole batch. It's not only super easy to make, it's absolutely delicious.
Wine-Braised Chicken with Shallots and Pancetta
I served this for a bunch of people at a dinner party. It's a good dinner party dish. It's good. Probably not a must-repeat again dish for me, but good.
I'm not a fan of carrot cake, so I made this but didn't eat any. However, everyone that had some loved it. And the cream cheese frosting is to die for. I used the frosting recipe a couple of weeks...
Chicken Saute with Cumin, Lemon & Parsley
This was pretty easy to make, but we weren't super crazy about it. I don't know, something missing?
This sorbet was terrific. Loved it... very creamy. I made everything up the day before so all I had to do was process it in the ice cream maker.
Blood Orange & Radicchio Salad with Hazelnuts & Shaved Parmesan
This salad is good, but not so special I would make it again. Probably because I'm not a huge fan of radicchio or hazelnuts. Or oranges in a green salad.
Pork & Potato Hash with Poached Eggs & Avocado
Another great use of the leftover pork shoulder. I love hash anyway, but this is a delicious version. We loved it for dinner, but it would also be excellent for breakfast. Read more on my...
Wow, this is a great dish. The flavors in the ragout are perfect, and marry great with the creamy polenta. In my opinion, the best polenta is made with milk (and cream, and cheese!). Read more on my...
Sautéed Escarole with Raisins, Pine Nuts, and Capers
I've used escarole in soups, and I like it, but this wasn't my favorite dish. However, my husband and our dinner guest loved it and ate it all up. Read more on my blog, Pork Cracklins.
Slow-Roasted Pork Shoulder with Carrots, Onions, and Garlic
Pork shoulder is my most favorite cut of meat. All it needs is some salt and pepper and low and slow cooking and it's delicious. I didn't salt the roast overnight, although I wish I would have. I...
I'm a sucker for tarts. It's one of my favorite desserts to make, and generally like them more than pies or cakes. This one caught my eye because of the oranges and the brown butter. Different...
Broccolini with Kalamata Dressing
I'm not crazy about broccoli. One of my least favorite vegetables. However, broccolini is slightly better because the tops are sparser and there's more stem. I made one change to this and roasted the...
Roasted Potato and Mushroom Salad with Mascarpone
Made as part of of the "Any Night's All Right" menu. This was by far our favorite dish, but I love pretty much anything with mascarpone. I'm not a fan of mushrooms but they add a nice flavor to this...
Pan-Seared Skirt Steak with Warm Radish & Red Onion Pickle
We don't eat a lot of beef, and when we do it's usually a pepper-crusted filet. So this was something different for us. Love it. Easy to make, although it needs time (2 hours to overnight) to...
I actually made the entire menu from this article. Everything was really good. We started with this white bean dip, which was easy to make (and can be made ahead). We had it with little packaged...
Buttermilk Cake with Spiced Vanilla Icing
Loved this cake. Absolutely delicious. It's not one of those spectacular desserts that everyone ooohs and aaahs over. It's homey and understated. But the spices are subtle and just right. It's moist...
Fast to make, and I liked it. My husband wasn't super crazy about it, though - he didn't like the carrots. Read more on my blog, Pork Cracklins.

Re: The Deal-Breaker Food
Asparagus. It's disgusting and if it's in any food I can't choke it down. I've tried cooking it a million ways to see if I can find a way to like it, and there isn't. It's a lifelong aversion.

Ew. I'm not a vegetarian, but I'd love to see more vegetarian (using fresh/seasonal) recipes. And also recipes with more grains and beans.

Re: Orange & Brown-Butter Tart
Jaclyne - nope, no problems with the crust at all. Outside of the way-too-juicy oranges, it was an easy tart to make.

If you make several recipes for one meal, should we create a separate post for each recipe made? Or list them all in one post?
