Re:Brown-Butter Banana Cake with Chocolate Chips

I'm giving this recipe 5 stars bec inspite of the extra step of melting & browning the butter, it is a pretty easy recipe to do with very few ingredients & the outcome is a wonderful cake. I would definitely recommend making this one. You won't regret. I think this will be great for breakfast or as a snack or even as a dessert. Really GOOD! The only step that I was not so sure about was when it was time to stop browning the butter. Although my cake came out good this time, taste wise & all, I think I will brown the butter a little bit more next time for a more intense nutty flavor.

Re:Carrot Cake with Orange Cream Cheese Frosting

03/20/2013... i just would like to add here that this is NOT the best carrot cake recipe that I have baked. i have another recipe that taste way better even if not frosted. nevertheless, this carrot cake recipe & the frosting taste so good together. that said I think I can increase the star rating to 3 STARS! :) 03/14/2013 i made this yesterday for a family friend's birthday. the cake baked well but i got an issue with the frosting. it was weeping wet. not at all what i expected. i had quite a hard time frosting the cake with it especially the sides. can anyone please give a feedback regarding the frosting? was it because i didn't use Philadelphia cream cheese? any tips please on making a better frosting with the same ingredients 'coz it really tasted sooo good... thanks... =)

Re:Chocolate Banana Swirl Cake

03/18/2013...GO AHEAD & BAKE THIS 1! PROMISE U won't be disappointed. it SURE tastes DIVINE. the banana, chocolate, & nuts flavors came in together beautifully. great for snacking with coffee or as dessert. i think this is also GOOD for breakfast :). BUT before you start baking, READ the recipe & directions carefully. My rating for this recipe is only 4 stars because the method of making the cake batter is unclear & misleading. If I am to re write the METHOD to avoid mistakes & unwanted outcomes, it should go this way: Mix all the dry ingredients like flour, baking powder, baking soda, & salt together & set aside. Cream the sugar & butter together until fluffy & light in color. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Then, beat in the vanilla extract & mashed bananas. Manually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk, starting & ending with the dry ingredients. DO NOT OVERMIX. Proceed by dividing the batter into 2 equal parts...

Re:Twinkie Bundt Cake

I would love to try making this cake but I'm discouraged by the method of how to fill it. It sounds so tricky. I love twinkies, especially the filing, but don't really eat those too much 'coz I'm worried of the preservatives that it contains. I might just still give this cake a go one of these days. :-)

Re:Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls

This is so worth all the work that you need to do to prepare this dish. It is very authentic in taste! It felt so light in the stomach & so fresh in taste. 'Will definitely be making this again & again. The sauce suggested here is so good too! Had to substitute coarsely shredded boiled Chicken meat for the Shrimp but this still came out so good. :-)
