I am an avid cook, boater, and artist. Cooking and painting are great creative outlets for me. When not at the stove or in the studio, I am boating or geocaching--sometimes both!

Re:Classic Steak au Poivre

Absolutely yummy! I especially like the fact that there is no flambeing involved. Almost set the kitchen on fire last time. The DH has politely asked me not to do those recipes anymore. The fact that it was so easy is icing on the cake. Highly recommended!

Re:Crispy Fried Chicken with Old Bay Aïoli

Not too many recipes have my husband telling me again and again how yummy it is. This is one of them. I used chicken breasts instead of thighs. I'd probably cook them an extra two to four minutes; they were a bit pink after only seven minutes. I prepared the aoli ahead of time to give the flavors time to meld. Not a lot of work. A definite keeper!

Re:Philly-Style Mushroom Cheesesteak

What a yummy, easy recipe! Followed it exactly, using aged Fontina cheese. Had leftovers for breakfast with a poached egg. Will definitely make again!

Re:Quick Chicken Parmesan

Quick, easy, delicious, what more can you say? Great keeper recipe to put in the rotation or just if you need to whip something up in a pinch. I added a bit of fresh oregano and basil from my garden, along with a dash of crushed red pepper to get the sauce on its hind legs.

Re:Orecchiette with Caramelized Onions, Green Beans, Fresh Corn & Jalapeño

A great way to use up some leftover pasta. I used frozen corn, but other than that, followed the recipe as written. Would be nice with bay scallops or shrimp next time.

Re:Shaved Asparagus Salad with Aged Gouda and Hazelnuts

What a great, simple recipe! I was blown away with how delicious it was. Instead of shaving the asparagus, I cut them into matchsticks. Definitely will add to the rotation.
