Re:Croque-Madame Sandwiches

I've been very disappointed with most of the croque madame/monsieur sandwiches that I've tried here in the U.S. Many places just treat them like a grilled ham and cheese (this recipe's an example: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/croque-madame-recipe/index.html) and don't remind me at all of the ones I've eaten in France. But, this FC recipe tastes like the real dealthe secret must be the bchamel.

Re:Slow Cooker Pulled-Pork Sandwiches

Excellent--this is a great basic recipe that seems to welcome variation. I used a whole jar of salsa (since we never use it up fast enough) and added more sugar at the "pulling" stage to suit our tastes.

Re:Lamb and Sweet Onion Pitas with Orange-Cucumber Salad

This was delicious! Same yummy flavors as you find in a gyro (lamb, cucumber, onion, yogurt) but without the greasy guilt! The only tedious part is removing the orange membranes for the salad. Next time, I'd try leaving them in and just cut the orange segments into chunks--less fuss and probably not that much texture difference.

Re:Butternut Squash Soup with Apple & Bacon

Delicious! Agreed that this is a very bacon-y soup--but it's sure to win over the most ardent veggie hater.

Re:Filet Steaks with an Irish Whisky & Cream Pan Sauce

I love this dish! Made it many times, with different cuts of steak too. Pretty quick to make too.
