Re:Orange and Brown-Sugar-Glazed Cake with Orange-Flecked Whipped Cream

Excellent cake. Followed directions exactly. I would probably put a parchment collar on the pan. The cake did not overflow however it did roll on the top of the pan a little. I used the correct size pan but it was not a spring form - it had a push up bottom only.

Re:Light, Crisp Waffles

These are the best waffles ever! I've made them with powdered buttermilk - the batter is a little thinner but they crisp up wonderfully and with regular buttermilk - batter is much thicker. Theses are a constant request on the holidays.

Re:Shortcut Polenta

I have made this recipe many times and always had great results. I love the fact that I can soak the polenta before I go to work and have dinner WITHOUT standing at the stove stirring for an hour. I always seem to make the basic shortcut recipe - fabulous by the way. Very cheesy. I have even used the soak recipe to make it plain worked beautifully.

Re:Dinner Rolls

These are the best rolls ever. I make them all of the time. They have a great taste, soft texture but not like white "glue" bread.

Re:Chocolate-Orange Cannoli Cheesecake

I though the flavor of this cake was great but the texture was gritty not smooth like cheese cake it suppose to be. I also had to cook it for an extra 10 minutes because only about an inch of the edge was firm. It finished cooking with the door ajar. It looked beautiful. I didn't make the ricotta so maybe that's the key. And I did beat until it was smooth and creamy. I wouldn't bother making it again.

Re:Roasted Ham with Cherry-Chutney Glaze

Made the recipe basically as the braising directions stated. I didn't have the whole spices so I substituted ground and used apple juice instead of cider. Worked out beautifully . I also used a low salt ham . I thought the braising liquid would be Salty and I would have to throw it out but it really isn't. So I'll be using that later. It had great flavor . It took about an hour and a 1/2 to braise so you might want to keep an eye on it . Ham was really moist. I used the cherry chutney glaze it was a great hit. I would also watch when you put it back in the oven with the glaze it comes up to temp. quickly. Everyone raved about it. This is definitely a keeper.

Re:Zucchini Tart with Lemon Thyme and Goat Cheese

Made the recipe as called for except with the addition of fresh chopped chives to the goat cheese. I thought the dish was a little bland although everyone else loved it. If I made it again I would season the zucchini like I was going to roast them and then put them on the goat cheese for some added flavor. The crust was good just make sure you don't roll it to thin on the edges - it will burn before the pie is done.

Re:Butternut Squash Lasagne with Goat Cheese, Sage, and Breadcrumbs
