Re:Crisp Pear Strudel

This dessert was wonderful! The flavors of the macerated pears and cognac soaked raisins coupled with the crispness of the phyllo made this the piece-de-resitance of the entire Mediterranean menu (thank you, Arlene Jacobs!)I used more of the phyllo sheets because I wanted to use all the pear slices. I have also found that using more of the sheets does not detract from the delicacy of the dish but does provide some much needed stability. Truly a winner!

Re:Beef, Barley, and Butternut Squash Stew with Blue Cheese Croutons

I have made this so many times that I likely don't need a written recipe. This is my all time favorite stew! I love the juxtaposition of flavors and consistencies. I double it and freeze as much as I can to continue enjoying. Freezes beautifully.

Re:Roasted Butternut Squash & Pear Salad with Spiced Pecan Vinaigrette

I give it more stars than the rating scale allows for! An incredible melding of flavors and textures!!! Next time I would use less oil when roasting the squash as I would have liked more of a crust on the squash. I made it last night and will make it again tonight. It will become one of my regulars!

Wonderful interplay of tastes and textures and came together very quickly. I used half as much bacon as the recipe called for and it was utterly delicious. I will make this again and again.

Unbelievably delicious and easy to make. As author suggests, can be made ahead and heated up which makes it even easier. I served it with both(either of)the creme fraiche and Hagen Das vanilla ice cream. I haven't tasted a more delicious dessert in a long, long time.

I love this recipe! Very easy and fast. Just the right amount of vodka and spiciness. I have tasted this sauce in restaurants and not liked it nearly as much as this recipe. Freezes beautifully.

Life, i.e., dessert, doesn't get any better than this. An unbelievable melange of ingredients and tastes. The recipe is easy to make and foolproof. The end product is truly showstoppingly gorgeous and will garner all the "oohs and aahs" one could hope for. C'mon chocolate, raspberries and whipped cream.......
