Re:Tamarind Date Chutney

This is an excellent recipe. The tamarind really does compliment the sweetness of the dates perfectly. I served this as a light appetizer before Thanksgiving with crackers and manchego as recommended and everyone loved it.

Re:Crostini with Brie Dates and Toasted Walnuts

I've made these on many occasions and everyone loves them. The brie and the dates are a perfect combination.

Re:Roast Pork with Crisp Crackling & Red Currant Gravy

I made the entire meal for my extended family. It has a beautiful presentation, all of the flavors blend together perfectly. Everyone loved it and said this meal raised the bar for family meals.

Re:Roast Chicken with Chanterelles and Peas

This recipe is rich and creamy, perfect served with homemade bread. Even my family members who don't like peas thought this was delicious.

Re:Shrimp and Pineapple Stir-Fry with Coconut Rice

This recipe was disappointing, palatable at best. The flavors don't mix well at all.

Re:Beef Bourguignon

I made this in 2000 and remembered it being a lot of work. The cold weather enticed me into making it again, and it still seemed like a lot of work for one meal. However, everyone who had it absolutely loved it. I made it with a full bodied cabernet sauvignon this time and it came out beautifully.

Re:Curried Parsnip and Apple Soup

This was incredibly bland. I was disappointed because the recipe looked so interesting.

Re:Blueberry Pie Parfaits with White Chocolate Cream

I have to agree with the first reviewer. This recipe was bland, it looked beautiful in the pictures and when served, but there was no depth. Maybe if you add yogurt between the layers it would taste like a nice parfait. As is, it felt like I was eating 3 ice cream toppings without the ice cream.

Re:Beef Rendang

This recipe is excellent. I made it the day after I got the issue in the mail and everyone loved it - even those who don't like spice. The only ingredient I couldn't locate was the lime leaves, and it was delicious without them. This is definitely worth trying.

Re:Stacked Green Chile & Grilled Chicken Enchiladas

This recipe is amazing and the chile sauce is definitely worth making. For the sauce, I roasted 2 jalapenos on a charcoal grill along with the anaheim chilis then pureed the jalapenos with the tomatillos and it came out great.
