My first salad spinner was about 30 years ago, and I have never been without at least one in the house since then. I have worn them out and bought new ones, saving the bottom parts to use as colander and washing bowl for fruits, vegetables and herbs. While I have a working one now, I hope to win another, because I'm sure to also wear it out someday.

30" counters! That's the answer! How I would love that! I could use a good wok. But I didn't know what kind to get. My stir-fries are done in a flat pan and are difficult to stir without slopping all over the stove.

So why is it that when you cook corn on the cob, they tell you not to salt the water or the corn comes out tough?
