Re:Maple-Rosemary Salmon Skewers

It's a nice recipe if you like the strong flavor imparted by rosemary. As I've grown older I've learn to like it in small quantities. In this recipe I appreciate the attempt to add a twist to the tried and true sweet/salty flavors normally found in traditional salmon marinades which is why I tried it. Unfortunately I found the rosemary to feature a bit more prominently than I would prefer. I used fresh rosemary as the recipe called for though I would have preferred about 1/2 of the recipe volume. Moreover, there wasn't enough flavor from the other ingredients to better disguise the syrup. My 7 year old immediately called out the flavor at first bite.

Re:Grilled Potato, Salmon, and Lentil Salad with Mustard Cream Sauce

This meal was sensational--one of the best I've found on fine cooking. The only changes I made were substituting whole seed mustard with some ground mustard and using mixed greens in greater ratio than the recipe called for. I also used smoked salt on the salmon. Loved the creme fresh dressing though it made more than we needed.

Re:Blue Cheese-Smoked Almond Guacamole

Fun recipe because it is unique, boosting the normally tame guacamole. Unfortunately I was missing a key flavor since neither of two grocery stores carried smoked almonds. Might be a seasonal or regional thing. Before you commit to this recipe make sure to check. Not sure it was worth the trouble to use a mortar and pestle: the food processor would have been adequate.

Re:Classic Linguine with Clam Sauce

Sometimes simple is the best as this recipe proves. The only modification I recommend is to substitute clam juice (purchased in most grocery stores) for the 1/4 cup pasta water. The change gives the meal a little flavor boost.
