French Toast Butter

Yield: Makes about 1 cup

Sweet and comforting, with a nice, salty crunch, this butter is also a great way to use up leftover bread. Slather it on waffles or pancakes, or spread it on a toasted English muffin.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup 1/2-inch cubes brioche or other soft white bread, lightly toasted
  • 4 oz. (8 Tbs.) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup, preferably grade B
  • 1 Tbs. dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. flaky sea salt, such as Maldon
