Make Ahead Tips
You can fry the shallots several hours ahead, but don’t top the sprouts with them until moments before serving, so the shallots stay crunchy.
A big hit at Thanksgiving. Like another reviewer said, frying the shallot too far ahead they did not stay crisp. Great for a stovetop prep and no oven needed.
I found this to be a refreshing way to enjoy Brussels Sprouts! I added (2) two cups of Asparagus tips to the recipe and thought it added a nice touch to it. I cooked the tips right along with the sprouts. It was easy to prepare using my food processor and was a hit at Christmas dinner!
A delicious, and different way, to serve Brussels sprouts! The flavor was wonderful! I didn't use the shallots because I didn't want to mess with frying them. I don't think the dish suffered from the lack of the fried shallots. I also used the food processor to shred the sprouts which cut down on prep time. Will definitely be making again.
