Cocktail Sauce with Red Onion & Jalapeño

Yields 1-1/4 cups.

To learn more, read the article:
Shrimp Cocktail Better than Ever
1/2 cup tomato ketchup
1/2 cup chili sauce
1/4 cup grated red onion (from about 1/4 medium onion; using the large holes on a box grater)
1/2 tsp. finely chopped fresh jalapeño
3 Tbs. prepared horseradish
1 Tbs. fresh lemon juice; more to taste
1/8 tsp. kosher salt; more to taste

Put all the ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine. Chill, covered, until ready to use. This sauce is best made a day in advance and keeps well for up to a week. Just before serving, taste and add more lemon juice and salt as needed.

This sauce goes well with Garlic Roasted Shrimp Cocktail, Lemon Poached Shrimp Cocktail, and Warm Seared Shrimp Cocktail.

Star Star Star Star Star A big hit with our guests. I had no chili sauce on hand but substituted an onion & pepper relish that I bought in Bermuda. An EXCELLENT recipe.
Star Star Star Star Star Very good! I've made several times.
Star Star Star Star Star this is the best cocktail sauce I have ever made. I make this often because it is so tasty & easy. I often freeze it because it makes a lot. The only change that I made was instead of plain chili sauce I use this chinese chili garlic sauce ( 1/4 cup) and use 3/4 cup ketchup.
Star Star Star Star Star Amazing.
