Need to run to a yoga class or drop the kids at practice? Don't skimp on dinner; all you need is 15 minutes for these quick turkey tacos. Let your family round them out with their favorite toppings—try grated sharp Cheddar, sliced avocado, and finely diced sweet or red onion.

  • 2 Tbs. Tabasco chipotle pepper sauce
  • 1 Tbs. tomato paste
  • 2 Tbs. vegetable oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 medium cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbs. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 to 1-1/4 lb. ground turkey (not ground turkey breast)
  • Kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 12 taco-size (6-inch) flour tortillas, heated

In a small dish, whisk the chipotle Tabasco, tomato paste, and 2 Tbs. water. Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring very frequently, until lightly browned, 3 to 5 minutes. Add the garlic, chili powder, and cumin and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Add the turkey and sprinkle with 1 tsp. salt. Cook, using a wooden spoon to break the meat into small pieces, until just cooked through, about 3 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste mixture and let cook until the liquid is almost absorbed, 1 to 2 minutes.

Off the heat, stir in the cilantro and season to taste with more salt if needed. Serve folded in the tortillas with your favorite taco toppings.

Serving Suggestions

If you've got more than 15 minutes, serve with Mexican Tomato Rice & Beans.

My husband and kids raved about this recipe. They all agreed I should use this instead of the packaged taco seasoning! I made a double recipe thinking I'd have something left for another meal and they ate almost all of it at the first sitting!

Made these tacos last night and they were so good...trying to convert from beef to turkey and i needed a taco recipe saw this online read the reviews and decided to give it a try. So glad that i did they were really good and tasty. Will definitely be making these again

This is a family favorite. When I make the turkey, I usually throw in some veggies - like a diced red or yellow pepper, and/or diced butternut squash or carrots - while sautéing the onions to sneak extra nutrition into my kids. Then I also usually double the recipe make it into quesadillas or serve over rice with some sprinkled cheese or guac later in the week. Very versatile!

Excellent and easy. Quick to make. Will definitely make again.

Quick and delicious, even a touch of liquid smoke could be added.

Didn't seem to have as much depth of flavor that a "5-star" rating would permit, but good.

This is a great recipe - used regular tabasco sauce and still came out great. I do have to adjust the seasonings for kids as it is a bit spicy. We use this now instead of the packaged taco mixes and it is much more flavorful!

We really enjoyed these - we topped them with avocado and cheese as suggested. The chipotle Tabasco sauce added a really nice flavor.

Great Tacos and very easy to make! Will definitely be a go to quick meal for me.

Excellent taste and very easy to make. I omitted the extra salt and did not miss it a bit. Would definitely make this one again

This is very easy and tasty. I love this recipe. I can't eat avacado so I used sliced radishes instead and they are good as well.

I serve this as a salad with some refried beans, guacamole, and heated and broken taco shells. I have made it with the chipotle tabasco as well as the jalapeno (green pepper sauce) variety. Both are tasty. The taco meat is far superior to the envelope of seasoning mix and almost as easy. A satisfying, easy and quick weeknight meal.

The sliced avocado is my favorite part of this recipe.

Quick and easy. Kids loved it. Healthy. That's a five star "soccer night" meal!

These are tasty tacos and very easy to prepare. See my pictre of them at
