Sesame-Soy Sauce

This sauce is great over grilled flank steak, especially if you use this five-spice rub on the steak.

  • 1/3 cup toasted sesame oil
  • 1 Tbs. minced fresh ginger
  • 1 Tbs. minced garlic
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 tsp. five-spice powder
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. ground fennel seed
  • 2 Tbs. balsamic vinegar
  • 2 Tbs. soy sauce
  • 1 Tbs. sugar

In a small bowl, whisk all the ingredients. This sauce keeps for 3 to 4 days in the refrigerator.
