4/29/2013My family LOVES this! The spice rub makes the recipe. I use it on steak, pork chops, etc.

2/5/2012I made this chicken tonight exactly as written and it was fantastic! We've made beer can chickens before but this is the first time I've made one that had a sauce like this. It really made the dish. The chicken was juicy and flavorful as expected but the sauce really made it something special.

5/25/2011Much different than my usual recipe for beer can chicken. It makes a lot of sauce (I had more sauce than chicken it seemed).

8/23/2009We've made this recipe several times now and many of those times for BBQ parties. People love it and most of them have never seen beer can chicken done so it is entertaining as well. Easy to prepare and delicious!

8/23/2009Loved this! Was my first time making beer-can chicken and am now hooked. I don't think I will want to try any other recipe. This was simple and quick. Best of all no mess in the oven! Every one loved this and I will make it again and again.

6/27/2009This is a great recipe that is very flavorful and easy to prepare. It is great to do the rub the day before, but it works to do it the same day. We have made this for several parties and it has received rave reviews everytime.

6/7/2008I agree with the first reviewer. This beer can chicken is much better than others and I believe it's because of the sauce. I am no longer looking for the perfect beer can chicken recipe because this recipe is it.

7/12/2008rub is good- adding sauce is too spicy (versus the conventional beer can chicken)- good though

1/26/2008This is hands-down the best beer can chicken recipe I have tried, and we've tried quite a few! I have handed out copies to friends and family who all rave about it. I make a large batch of the spice rub and keep it on hand. I make this recipe even in the winter when I vertical-roast chicken in the oven, and use the spice rub and sauce...and add beer to the bottom of the roasting pan.
