Still looking for that perfect holiday vegetable side to go with the rest of your holiday meal? This is a great recipe for braised chestnuts and Brussels sprouts that comes from a beautiful blog called Roost.
The owner, writer and photographer behind it all is Caitlin, known to her family, friends and followers as Coco. She has put together a wonderful collection of recipes, photos and life stories relating to her family’s gluten, grain, lactose, sugar and starch-free diet and has as a result, developed a stunning blog full of simplistic, inspiring recipes.
These chestnuts are perfect for the holidays, because they are incredibly easy to make. After a few minutes of sautéing the ingredients together, you merely douse everything in white wine and stock, reduce the heat and let the stove work its magic. Fast forward about a half an hour and your holiday side dish will be finished and ready to serve. It couldn’t be simpler. And by the way, make sure you save some of that wine to wash it all down!
