If I were forced to pick my favorite meal of the day, it’s got to be breakfast. There’s no better way to start the day than with a satisfying breakfast. But being a college student, I don’t always enjoy the luxury of a lavish breakfast, but I’ve learned to become more accommodating. Which brings me to doughnuts. They definitely aren’t the most nutritious breakfast option, but, they are the most delicious. On the days I do feel like indulging without the high price tag, it’s always a doughnut (or two).

Which is exactly why when I saw these Baked Peanut Butter Doughnuts with Chocolate Glaze I just about started drooling at my desk. Thanks to a mom with a sweet tooth, these delicious doughy treats were born, and not without the calories.

Amanda of Fake Ginger, decided to bake the treats rather than fry them, and incorporated the peanut butter directly into the dough. After baking for 8 minutes, she simply let them cool on a wire rack, where she drizzled on the chocolate glaze, and sprinkled the Reese’s Pieces for the finishing touch.

The simple nature of the recipe and the idea of having my own free stash of doughnuts made this recipe an instant “must bake” addition to my list.
