A watched pot never boils over

Fine Cooking Issue 92

It happens to me all the time. I put on milk to boil, turn around, and it boils over. So now I use my digital thermometer with the alarm function to watch my pot for me. I set the alarm for 205 degrees. When it starts to beep, I have more than enough time to get to the stove and keep a close eye on the pot for the last few seconds before it begins to boil.
